This book is everything I wish standard textbooks were. Important terms, people, and events are highlighted and capitalized, summaries are engaging and concise, and there are maps galore! Not to mention the great "Check You Knowledge" questions at the end of each section. It also doesn't weigh twenty pounds, so students can easily bring it home each day and stuff it in their locker after class. Keeping track of all the info covered in this class is a major struggle for my lower level readers, and this book would be a great studying tool, especially for the end of course final exam.
