The 6th-grade students here at Wesley International Academy are inquisitive and have a vast love of learning. We are an inner-city charter school in with an 85% African-American population. Our charter focuses on single-gender education and the development of the whole child. As an International Baccalaureate school, we look to challenge our students to develop themselves into global learners and understand America's place in the world, and not separate from the rest of the world. All of my 103 students participate in Mandarin Chinese language classes. Our students are respectful and have a high level of moral standing. In our Earth Science class, we are exploring all facets of the world around us! Students use Interactive Notebooks in Earth Science to engage both their left and right brain characteristics.
