Life has many challenges and opportunities. However, if you break down at the sight of a seemingly unconquerable challenge, you may miss out on the opportunity to learn and grow. I know that my students encounter many challenging experiences because I watch them go through them each and every day. As their teacher, I do not want to make my classroom void of all challenge. On the contrary, I want to model skills for persevering through challenging times and coming out the other side having grown as a person, and allow my students the opportunity to grapple with and practice that same skill so that they may internalize it and apply it throughout their own lives when times get tough. As a teacher, it is my ultimate goal that my students leave my classroom with the tools necessary to acclimate and thrive in any life experience that presents itself. Your donation will help me to expose students to and model the traits of integrity, tolerance, kindness, empathy, and grit by infusing a character geared read-aloud book into our morning meetings once a week. I utilize a daily morning meeting structure in my classroom, during which our class greets each other in a creative way, discusses the previous day's successes and areas for growth, our personal, class, and teacher goals for the week, as well as our agenda for the day. This morning meeting routine is both my students' and my own favorite part of our day, every day! It is in the morning meeting circle that we become a classroom family and practice skills to help us become world-changing LEADERS!
