The books chosen in this project will be used during guided reading groups, intervention groups, and during independent reading time. The children love reading "real" books and not photocopied books that we often have to use. The "real" books are always handled with care and recommended to peers while working in small groups. Children love having their book baskets filled with new books each week. They will often read independently, to peers, and to teachers in the classroom. I love to provide the children in my room with an assortment of genres to choose from...finding their reading preference makes a world of difference in their motivation to read!
