I am really excited to start something new this year! Rather than have my students come in and start their day right away with morning work, I want to give them a chance to unwind and slowly gear up for a day of learning. My hope is that these bins of various activities will not only allow my students to get all their chit-chats out, but also encourage team building, problem solving and learning through investigation. Play is one of the most powerful avenues of learning. I do not think that should stop at pre-k. These morning bins will allow students to create with Legos and other types of blocks. They can learn about our language through the letter cubes and phonics dice, be authors through our new story cubes, become scientists by using the binoculars to explore the world around them and much, much more!
