These materials will help students learn to recognize letters, write out letters improving their fine motor skills, and spell their names. Each student will have their personal "Name Kit". Each kit will include a laminated sentence strip for them to practice tracing their names, magnetic letters to practice putting their name in the correct order, a paper notebook to practice using a pencil and writing out their name, a golf size pencil for their little hands, and a vis-a-vis wet erase marker. Students will be able to work on this activity with little to no help during centers, allowing them to build their independence in the classroom.
