I am brand new to my school district. My 5th grade classroom is currently empty and I would like to fill it with useful materials that can be used across a variety of topics and subject areas. I have spent this summer decorating my empty classroom but my students will need supplies such as colored pencils and notebooks in order to succeed. My students will use the scissors and colored pencils for diverse artistic projects. Students will use the notebooks for writer's workshop, math, and science. Over half of the students at my school are from low income families. By obtaining the necessary materials for them this summer, my goal is to prepare my 5th graders for learning from day one.
