When you were in 6th grade World Geography how did you learn? Maybe you opened up a textbook and read a chapter and answered questions. Not the most exciting thing to do. Now picture beginning a unit on Oceania and taking a "field trip" through the Outback. You would be able to take note of the different land forms, animals, and people. Using the virtual reality experience will bring hands-on experiences to students that may not get the chance to travel. The experience of "being there" will help enrich the curriculum and enable the students to put places, pictures, and words together.
