This technology will help my students in a number of ways. Listening to fluent reading is a key way that children understand words, especially ELL students. This will save them time and give them that visual and audio connection for reading. As an ELL learner, speech-to-text is essential to learning a language. These iPod's will give the students access to our texts. Some of these books are not available on audio book, so I will be recording them myself reading the texts to supplement what is not already read. This will be a huge help to my ELL babies! There is nothing like the look on a child's face when they truly begin to enjoy and understand literature. The texts we will be reading encounter a number of cultures, social issues, and time periods. We will talk about race, class, opportunity, justice, Shakespeare, and so much more. Our first book is The Crossover, read along with us to discover the magic!
