These non-fiction books will enhance our students' reading skills through real-world experiences, interesting vocabulary, and informational facts about interesting people, places, and events. Our students come from various backgrounds with some never having ventured outside of our small city. The titles I have selected will allow students to "travel" to interesting places while learning about people and events that have helped shape our history. These books will be used to help students learn about and celebrate the diversity of our world while also practicing critical reading skills. We have about 110 third graders each year, and these books will not only bless our students from this coming school term but for years to come!
