Flexible seating is fairly new concept in mainstream classrooms, but it has been helping students with behavioral and special needs for years. The flexible seating that I am requesting includes floor cushions and wobble stools. Both of these options are a great way to meet the needs of a diverse group of students. Research shows that students greatly benefit from choices in seating. Just like adults don't like to be confined to one area, neither do children. In fact, it is even more imperative that young children are given the options to move! I would like to implement six wobble chairs and twelve floor cushions, thus enhancing our cooperative groups. Students need alternative seating arrangements and a flexible learning environment.
