Having a rug is very important in a kindergarten classroom. The rug provides students a meeting spot to meet, greet, and learn daily skills that will help them become successful learners. My students will also be working at this rug area as a flexible seating option throughout the day. This gives my students comfort and work space of their own. Being able to provide my students with a specific space will help them continue to work hard. They will be excited to find their own spot for the day or choose to sit on their spot instead of their desk. A carpet area can make for a great day!
