Dramatic play builds their ability to communicate with peers. It allows them to pretend their a chef, mom, dad, and babysitter. Students can sort play food, write grocery list, count dishes & care for babies/pets. This center is the most popular in my classroom. I love listening to the students role play what's for dinner or who needs to take the trash out. As the classroom teacher it gives me the opportunity to gain a better understanding of their home life. It also allows me time to interact and introduce manners and cleanliness. Center times gives each student the ability to gain organization skills at clean up time too. So many wonderful teaching tools come with a child dramatic kitchen center.
