The students are able to assimilate melodies much easier when they can see the notes in front of them. We use the orff instruments to play while we sing and the students get to incorporate multiple strategies at the same time. These abilities transfer into other areas when they are able to visualize the relationship of the notes. We also use the instruments to learn how to improvise melodies and chord patterns. They develop into better musicians and are able to transfer their creativity into other areas.
