In order to revive the rich farming and agriculture dynamic of the population that I serve I want to create a living garden for my students. Students would partake in planting and harvesting fresh fruit and vegetables that would not only be used in our cafeteria, but they would also be afforded the opportunity to take fresh fruit and vegetables home to share with their families. In my classroom I create a space for parents to be partners in the educating of their children and our garden would be no different. It will create an environment where students and families are not only literally planting seeds, and watching them grow, but they are also partaking in healthier lifestyles as a community.
