I recently came across Genia Connell's blog post on Scholastic entitled "Rethinking the Book Box." She states, "By allowing students to expand the types of written material in their book boxes, the amount of time they spend reading has expanded as well." I couldn't agree more! Students need a wide variety of reading materials to get them excited about reading! I am a firm believer that every student can enjoy reading - if we find what interests them. These magazines will provide great reading material in my classroom. They can be used both individually, during small groups and for whole class instruction.
