Developing a class community requires educators to be caring, loving, and prepared (and host of other positive things). One way to create and sustain a class community is to implement daily morning meetings. During our morning meetings, our class community will engage in a greeting, a share, a group activity, and a group reading of the morning message. These activities will create opportunities for students to develop social-emotional skills and more. We all know that every student wants to feel valued and loved. And, with the following materials (easel stand, chart paper, morning meeting book, etc.), we will be able to fully engage in daily morning meetings and ultimately build a STRONG and LASTING community of learners.
