My second grade students need four Chromebooks to increase the student-technology ratio from 4:20 to 8:20. Currently in my classroom, there are only four computers, which makes it difficult to utilize all of the many online resources that our school provides, such as Seesaw, KidBiz, Study Island, Reflex Math, and Google Classroom. I am requesting headphones for my students to be able to use as well, as many of the technology sources incorporate sound as students interact and learn. Today, our kids are living in a world filled with technology, so I want to provide opportunities for my students to be successful in the classroom, which will also help prepare them for the future. Many of my students do not have access to technology outside of the classroom, so it is critical for me to implement the use of these resources as much as I possibly can. Next year, my second grade students will become third graders which is when the school district provides Chromebooks for each student. I want my students to be successful in the use of technology and believe the more opportunities they have to use them in the classroom, the more they will grow and be prepared for third grade and beyond.
