As a new teacher, it is difficult to get all of the supplies as well as books for students immediately. Research has proven that an effective classroom library is a great way to engage student literacy and I firmly believe the same. Reading and literacy allows students to become more empathetic as well as gain new interests and learn more about original interests. Literacy and active student engagement are two important factors for student achievement. Allowing students to have a personal whiteboard for the year allows them to each show their own knowledge and work independently and in groups easier. This allows the students to show better understanding and research has proven that personal whiteboards also allow students to get help faster from the teacher or their peers.
