Collaborative work and team problem solving are a major component in my lessons on an everyday basis. Collaborative work provides the students with the skills necessary in higher education and in their future career. Right now my classroom is somewhat a hodgepodge of school furniture that doesn't allow for the most productive team work. I have asked the school for tables, but unfortunately, "there is no money in the budget." Circular tables for each team would facilitate our goal to work collaboratively. I also teach an after school art enrichment class for grades 2-4, and the circular tables would allow more room for our large canvas paintings and other various art projects.
