The third graders will participate in a Bio Bash! During the Bio Bash, each student dresses in a costume and "becomes" the famous person he or she has researched through reading biographies. I videotape the presentations, create a Bio Bash movie, and then celebrate and view the movie with parents during our Writers' Celebration. During these oral presentations, the students share the struggles and motivations of these famous people they've discovered through the world of biographies! The Who Was biographies book series will give my students a variety of texts to read and explore the lives of ordinary people that have accomplished extraordinary feats during their lifetimes!
