My students will use this greenhouse as a hands-on learning laboratory, with an emphasis on sustainability, water conservation and raising drought-resistant native plants from seeds. In addition, we will use the greenhouse to nurture seedlings before they are transplanted into our newly rehabilitated garden. The greenhouse will provide students the ideal space for experimenting with, and learning how different environments effect plant growth. Based on their research and findings, students will discover how plant needs differ and how to nurture plants from seed to harvest - as well as develop an awareness of foods' progress from farm to market to table.
