The horseshoe table will allow me to work with each child individually as we develop those fine motor skills to hold a crayon correctly and color with control and stay within the lines. Using glue can be a challenge as we use those hand muscles to control how much glue to place on our paper when gluing a variety of materials from paper to beads and buttons. Cutting is so important! Yes, they have to be taught how to cut! They need to not only use those fine motor skills but also coordinate with their minds as to when to open, slide, and close our scissors. Once we get good with crayons we move on to tracing shapes and letters with markers and pencils. We need a flat surface with plenty of room to move our hand and arm on the paper.
