The district has adopted a new Social Studies Program that integrates Social Studies and Reading. Unfortunately, the integrated read aloud books are the regular size storybooks. I made the suggestion that we get big books for K-2, but at this time the cost would be too much. A document camera will allow the students to see and follow along as I share the story, concept, and/or skills with them even if they are sitting in the last row. I will be able to do a close read where I can model annotating so that the students can better understand what they are reading and summarize a text. The cart provides access and storage for the document camera and all other reading and writing materials.
