This year, I will be incorporating a travel theme into my classroom, an emphasis on the book "Oh The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. My hope is to encourage my students that learning takes you places. I plan to create the theme from scratch. I want to design realistic passports for students to check into centers, to print out photos, and to design our data board to keep us on track throughout the school year. I also want to provide colorful and in depth pictures of regular and monumental places around the world. I want my students to know that one day they can thrive in these places or any place too. I would like to have families provide pictures of places they've travelled to with their children to hang up in the classroom. However, many of my families do not have access to a personal computer or printer. In an early childhood education classroom, my students thrive off of color. My students' favorite color changes everyday. In general, the classroom is filled with colorful objects and furniture. And I believe providing their educational materials in color will keep my children more engaged as well. At my school, we believe children gain the most knowledge and increase understanding when they are actively engaged in learning. Please support me in creating these opportunities for my students with a color printer and ink. Thank you!
