Working in kindergarten requires moving around the room, sitting in various locations as a team, and focusing on the work to be done. Flexible seating allows for students to choose where and how they will be seated to work with their peers on various projects. In kindergarten, we work together during reading playdates, science learning, word work, and so much more. Students would have choices as to where they will work with their teammates (flexible spacing) and what they will use for seating to help support focus and task completion. We are up and down and around our classroom a lot throughout the day. Allowing for students to have flexible seating and the choice would open responsible, safe, and acceptable movement for focus and time on-task for all.
