Prior to the release of the movie Wonder, our class will embark on a study of the book the movie is based upon. We will use the book to have in depth discussions about perspective, point of view, character traits, but most importantly we'll put ourselves in the shoes of Wonder's characters and share how we would feel. In addition, we will see the movie and delve into the differences between the story told in the book and the story told on the screen. As a culminating activity students will study various birth defects and organizations that support those who suffer. Students will complete a project that creates awareness and tolerance for their particular defect studied.

About my class
