More and more students are coming to school with different needs than the past. With the stresses of more curriculum and harder tests on these students we would love to make school and their learning environment more comfortable. Students should have to opportunity to move while learning. Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to work their best in their most comfortable setting which gives the students more opportunities to be successful in their learning. Instead of students missing instruction due to being off task and needing to "wiggle" we can combine the need to wiggle and the need to learn successfully. If my class was able to obtain wobble chairs, students would have the opportunity to move within limits while staying on task and focused on independent work or whole group lessons. Portable lap desks give the opportunity for students to have choice of where they can work more successfully independently. It also gives them the opportunity to have their own space and feel comfortable sitting on the floor with a sturdy work space to complete work or projects. Please help my students feel more comfortable while being successful in their learning!!
