Currently, all that our school has for microscopes are plastic, elementary microscopes. My kids cannot see the amazing details of our cells, and other life without more powerful scopes. In order to get them more excited about science, it is imperative that we equip them with the best scientific instruments. If we expect our students to love science and want to pursue a career in science, we cannot put antiquated or less than stellar tools in their hands. I want my students to be curious about the world in which we live. I want them to discover the cure for cancer. They can't very well discover that cure if they can't see how cancer effects our cells. By putting real microscopes in my students hands, we are helping them get one step closer to becoming the next Louis Pasteur!
