One of the ways that I build a community in my classroom is through reading and encouraging a love of reading. I am requesting supplies to build a working classroom library. This will only be my second year of teaching and my library is only just now growing to be something great for my students. I don't have any containers for the books and I am currently working on organizing them in a way that is both easily accessible for students, but also inviting so that they can choose books to read comfortably. The classroom library is where students choose to either love or hate reading. The classroom library will help students become encouraged readers. Students will practice fluency and learn to love reading. Students will be exposed to a variety of texts that will help them grow as people, as well.
