This project will give my students the opportunity to have a hands-on engineering experience, allowing them to grow their passion for all things STEM! A robotics team will allow my students to work on their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, in addition to developing a cooperative learning environment. My students will be able to travel around both the city and state to participate in competitions, broadening their horizons and improving their networking skills. These tools, from the cordless drill to the micrometer, and safety supplies like protective eyewear will help my students safely construct a robot for competitions. Vises, hacksaws, files and sandpaper will also help students create this functional robot. These robotics competitions will create future opportunities for them in the form of scholarships and making them more competitive applicants for colleges!
