We would love to have a dedicated area in our classroom for students to discover different sensory experiences! With this sensory table students can have the opportunity to investigate if an object sinks or floats in water, what may happen when building with sand, and describing how something feels. Emphasizing our sensory skills allows all students to obtain growth in feeling, hearing, seeing, moving, and balancing manipulatives within the sensory table. It is essential to encourage this type of play with our students because of it allows such a broad range of access for students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and across the developmental spectrum. Our students are so excited to expand their scientific knowledge and vocabulary!

About my class
