At Franklin Academy I teach ELA to fifth grade girls. My girls are challenged through research projects. For multicultural studies, students choose a country, research all aspects of their country, including food, clothing, and culture. Next, we have a Multicultural Fair at night for parents to attend. In May, I made connections by asking my students the question, "What affects did Ancient Greece have on modern-day architecture, arts and government in the United States. Another research project included women who have impacted the world from Malala to Gabby Douglas. In 2017-2018 our elementary school implements the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. The program requires daily research. In addition, we will be connecting with a class in Cambodia, to share cultures, learning, and relationships We are in need of 24 Chromebooks (Asus) and one Laptop charging cart for the 24 computers. Approximately $5,000
