Valley View is an alternative school for students in grades K thru 12 with emotional and/or behavioral disorders, or students going through a challenging time in their lives due to post-traumatic experiences. The alternative school provides a more direct approach at correcting distructive behavior than the general schools can provide. All staff are specifically trained to handle aggressive behaviors and consistently enforces individualized behavior plans specific to student needs. Additionally, Valley View provides students with daily counseling opportunities and direct instruction in social skills. In order to enhance safety for staff and students, Valley View is in need of Motorola radios with chargers. The radios will allow staff to communicate more quickly with one another when issues arise with students. When students flee the building or become aggressive towards staff, it can be difficult to access phones.
