I teach second grade at a title 1 school in Laurel, Maryland. I grew up in the same city that I currently work in. I changed careers and went back to school a few years ago to become a teacher. I have a special place in my heart for these students, and want to see them succeed. Times have changes since I was little and most of my students are speakers of other languages. Though many of them come into school with limited English, they grow tremendously throughout the year. It is truly inspiring to call them my students and they give me so much hope for our future generations.
