The research is in...flexible seating works! I truly believe in the words of teacher-astronaut Christa McAuliffe: “I touch the future; I teach.” I get to touch our future every day, so when I learn about new practices that will benefit kids, I wholeheartedly jump in. I aspire to convert my classroom from traditional to flexible seating. The idea is to create a more comfortable environment that helps students be their best learning selves. I did my research and looked at examples, including “Why the 21st Century Classroom May Remind You of Starbucks” by Kayla on . Delzer’s words and other success stories of teachers around the country convinced me to go this route. With your help, I can make this transition! The items I am requesting are just a couple different seating options. Children need the choice to stand at the pub-style table, sit and wobble on the stools, or sit comfortably on the yoga balls. It is time to make the student centered classroom a reality. I will ultimately have many different seating options available to choose from. I want to give my students every opportunity to succeed :)
