This past school year I had 1 student from my second-grade class reach the MILLIONTH word on AR. I had a second student reach 19 THOUSAND words on AR. When I asked my second student what would have made a difference in her word count she was honest and told me that her chair is VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Researching for options I found that the Gaiam Balance Ball Chairs are the best option. It helps align the spine for better posture, improves circulation so they are comfortable while sitting. This will help them focus and read for a longer period of time during our reading center blocks.
