Flexible seating allows my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent and group work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with clipboards, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard. Making sure students are comfortable is a strong motivator for them. I have noticed differences in attention and focus, teamwork, and work results with my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They are learning to make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at a desk. They are more engaged in their learning and less disruptive to the class when given a choice of where to work. These products will help my students be the best learners they can be! The low table and comfortable floor seats will give them the opportunity to work in a way that is most comfortable to them. This will be extremely beneficial for some students that find it difficult to work in a hard chair by allowing them to wiggle and move without falling out of a chair. They can still be comfortable and use the low table as a writing surface. These comfy floor seats will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options in other places in my room as well. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. I want to provide the best learning environment for my little fabulous firsties and I hope you can help me do that!
