With the options for different styles of seating, my students will be able to spend their academic time focusing on their own learning, instead of how to get comfortable. They will also be able to choose (a huge bonus for preteens) between the types of seating that they want. These seating options will be arranged throughout the room in zones that are comfortable and accommodating. The lighting sources are great alternatives to the headache inducing overhead florescent lights. These zones will also foster a sense of community and collaboration in my classroom that will be beneficial to my students' learning.
