My sixth-grade students are in a design and modeling class in which they use Autodesk Inventor to create three-dimensional projects. They begin with video tutorials that I created and end with a project of their own choosing (key chain designs, small toy trucks, and so on). Anything can be created on Inventor of students' choosing, and I want to be able to use the subtractive method to give students that physical product. This is an ongoing project that will give 100 students every 9 weeks an opportunity to connect computer technology with the creation of physical products. My programming class will also benefit from seeing other examples of ways programs are used to create products.
