After years in upper elementary, this is my second year as a classroom teacher in the lower grades, and I LOVE IT! I love the joy and passion my students have for learning. Most of my students come from immigrant families. Coming from an immigrant family myself, I understand many of the challenges they face. Many times, families value education and want to help their child learn, but they either don't know how or are not available to sit down with their child. Still, the students come back with their homework complete and eager to learn every day. As an educator, I love expanding my students' world views. I want them to have all of the resources at their fingertips so that they know that when we tell them they can become anything they want, they truly know that that is possible.
