My students have a rigorous course load that teaches them how to close read, dissect author's purpose and author's craft writing prompts, and create beautiful essays. To supplement this high-rigor and high-intensity curriculum, we also want students to be reading on their own, for fun, with books that are on their level. We need a library full of fun and engaging books that inspire students to read on their own and to fall deeply in love with the world of reading for pleasure. We know that this is what most builds strong, life-long readers and leaders. Our school has just reached full size, and we simply do not have enough books yet for the robust, enticing library that our kids deserve. I want to see my student excited to choose their next book because of all the interesting options they have to select from!
