The reason my students need bean bags is for comfort and to be relaxed. They can focus their attention on reading, revising and studying without being distracted by uncomfortable pins and needles or rough seat edges rubbing the backs of their knees. Bean bags help students to wind down and promote reading and learning. The comfort of a bean bag allows students to focus on take in new information. On bean bags students can situate their bodies for maximum comfort so their minds are free to learn. Creating a designated spot in the classroom where they can read in comfort is essential because it helps them develop lifelong reading habits. Learning to read can be daunting and quite stressful. Having the freedom that’s created by bean bags will encourage them to work together, surrounding themselves with help and support from their fellow classmates. It is incredible to know that something as simple as a bean bag can help improve the learning experience for students to such a high level. I believe that bean bags help students concentrate better and create better posture and comfort.
