My students need a large carpet to sit on for class meetings, read alouds, and group mini-lessons. The squares will help students to stay in their own personal space. The reading cart will assist in strategically tailoring reading to fit the needs of my students. The reason why it is so important for us to have a large rug and reading cart in our classroom is because the rug is our meeting area and the reading cart helps with organization. The classroom rug is the heart of our classroom. This is where we meet for read alouds and mini-lessons. The rug is where students can play academic games and have meetings to encourage and compliment one another. The carpet that we currently have is stained and worn. I've tried steam cleaning it. Yet the stains will not come out. The carpet is tattered and worn from many years of use.
