My 2nd graders are similar In many ways, but are quite unique when it comes to how they learn. Flexible seating gives students an opportunity to choose what kind of seat they will sit in. This project will allow me to give my students choices regarding sitting in a wobbly chair or a different kind of desk. All of these tools, allow students to move and work at the same time. Allowing students to choose helps them to "buy into" their learning and they will be more productive. All students will benefit from this project because it will be available for everyone. It will give everyone an opportunity to understand that we are all 2nd graders, but we have different needs that help us learn. Teaching children about empathy and tolerance, at a young age will encourage awareness, respect, and acceptance.
