Growing up in the digital world, our students are becoming more and more technologically savvy. To help with this, I would like to add kindle's to our classroom to enhance their experience. While most books are in print in the classroom, it is important to realize that the outside world is more digital than not.
Because I teach in a Title 1 school, most students are not exposed to technology as frequently as other schools. This would give students a boost in confidence not only in their reading, but in the area of technology in general. Literacy is the foundation of all learning in school. Therefore, it is important that students are exposed to all different types of literature, print and non-print. Kindles will help reach all students in the classroom. The Kindles have the ability to read the books to the students. This would be extremely helpful during independent reading time for my lower level students. The Kindles can be used in all areas of school, also exposing students to various content resources.
