With this collection of books, my students will be able to study mentor authors and grow as readers and writers. Using these authors and texts, I will be able to teach multiple units of study such as punctuation studies, illustration studies, non-fiction studies, opinion studies, narrative studies, and much more! The donations from this project will help my students be able to notice what authors and illustrators do and experiment with different styles and techniques in their own writing. By incorporating these great mentor texts into my reading and writing workshops, students will be inspired to try new things in their own writing and grow as readers and writers. Giving students a sense of feeling like an author and illustrator is so important and I will be able to better do this using this collection of books.
