Many of my kids come to me with poor fine motor skills. Many cannot cut with scissors and their handwriting looks more like scribbles. Handwriting requires fine motor skills that my students lack and it is missing from our curriculum-focused school day. Letter formation is all about knowing how to form the letters then being able to physically make them. Asking a small child to use a long pencil or writing tool is often difficult to manipulate, even when they know how to form the letters. Improving their handwriting then makes writing easier for them as they can focus more on the content of their writing pieces rather than how to form the letters they need. I am asking for handwriting and fine motor skills resources including six Handwriting Without Tears Slide Stamp and See Screens, five packs of Synthetic Chalkboards, and six Giant Magnetic Letter Construction sets.
