THIS IS OUR FIRST YEAR OF MIDDLE SCHOOL! Think back to that age. You were deciding whether you loved school, felt accepted, and felt inspired by the content provided by teachers. My students come from a mix of elementary schools from the highest and lowest income brackets in this capital city of Oregon. We are wonderfully eclectic group of readers and writers with different interests and backgrounds. The best way to form friendship and find our identities through this time are classroom texts and accessibility of experiences. We need support to grow in our excitement of reading and practice of writing skills. Please show my students we care about their journey.
