Sitting in a hard chair all day long is uncomfortable. Imagine sitting in a hard, plastic chair from anywhere between five to seven hours a day! Students in classrooms experience this every day. Imagine where you are when you create your best work. Are you on your couch? Are you standing? Are you sitting on stool by a tall table? Are you on the floor, staring at the ceiling waiting for inspiration to strike? I guarantee you are not sitting in a hard plastic chair facing one direction. Students need to feel this same freedom to unleash their best abilities! Children need to move, wiggle, dance, and squirm. They need to shift positions to get comfortable. Above all, they need to feel ownership of their education! Through flexible seating, the students in my class can unlock a hidden potential they didn't know they had!
